Increasing drinking water storage for Shepparton, Mooroopna and surrounds by more than 40%.

Goulburn Valley Water is constructing a new 36-megalitre clear water storage tank at our Shepparton Operations Centre.

This project supports long-term growth across the Shepparton region and ensures our network remains resilient as demand increases.

The new tank will strengthen supply security during peak demand and unplanned interruptions.

Construction commenced in August 2025 and is scheduled for completion in late 2026.

All works are being delivered within our Price Plan 2023-28 capital program.

A clear water storage tank holds fully treated, potable drinking water before it is distributed to homes and businesses.

Construction activity will be confined to the Shepparton Operations Centre site on Florence Stree­­t.

While there may be increased noise and vehicle movement during business hours at times, we’ll work to minimise disruption.

Nearby residents and businesses have been notified about the works and will continue to be kept informed throughout the project.
