We're working to help improve water pressure, reliability and network performance across our region.

As towns grow and water demand changes over time, additional pressure is placed on the infrastructure that supplies water to homes and businesses. Upgrades are sometimes needed to help maintain consistent water supply and pressure across the network.

Our Pressure Improvement Program includes investigations, network monitoring and targeted infrastructure upgrades designed to improve how local water systems operate and respond to changing demand.

Some works will also help modernise ageing infrastructure and improve operational control across the network.

The Pressure Improvement Program is part of our Capital Works Program and is a commitment outlined in our 2023-2028 Price Plan.
We're committed to delivering five water pressure improvement projects in identified towns across the region by 2028.

Projects are being prioritised based on factors including network performance, infrastructure condition, operational needs and future demand requirements.

Current works

Nagambie

We're currently upgrading pressure management infrastructure in Nagambie as part of the Pressure Improvement Program.

The works include upgrades to pumping and pressure control equipment to improve operational flexibility and strengthen management of the town’s water network.

From June 2026, we'll gradually introduce pressure adjustments across parts of the Nagambie water network while system performance is carefully monitored.

This staged approach helps us assess how the network responds to operational changes and identify any areas of infrastructure that may require further attention.

Nagambie customers may notice minor changes to water pressure during this period.

Future works

We're investigating and identifying potential pressure improvement works in several other towns across the region.

Planning and investigations are currently underway, with timing and scope varying between locations.

Further updates will be provided as projects progress.

FAQs

Water pressure can be influenced by many factors including network design, elevation, infrastructure age and peak demand periods.

As communities grow and infrastructure ages, upgrades are sometimes needed to help maintain reliable water services.

The outcome of works may vary depending on the location and condition of existing infrastructure.

Some customers may notice improvements to water pressure, while in other areas the focus may be on improving overall network performance, reliability and operational control.

Pressure outcomes may differ between towns depending on the existing network and infrastructure limitations.

Water networks need to be carefully monitored when operational changes are introduced, particularly in areas with ageing infrastructure.

A staged approach helps us safely assess network performance and minimise impacts to customers.

Some works may require temporary interruptions to water supply. Any planned interruptions will be communicated to affected customers in advance where possible.

The Pressure Improvement Program includes a range of investigations and upgrades across selected towns in our service region.

Projects are currently at different stages of planning, investigation and delivery, with updates to be provided as works progress.

We're monitoring network performance throughout the program, including how infrastructure responds to operational changes over time.

Success measures may vary between towns and can include improvements to pressure management, reliability and overall network performance.
